Hi friends,
Quick update on the UDOT petition. We have a meeting with UDOT on Wednesday, November 4, so we’re pushing the petition delivery back a few days to hand it over in that room. Right after the meeting we’re holding a press conference. Details coming soon.
UDOT's instagram channel sent us a DM and among other things informed us that they are changing the contract, likely removing the public support clause altogether. If so, the state will have answered a public petition by deleting the public's standing in the contract. We've filed a GRAMA request for those drafts and communications with Flock.
If you haven’t signed yet, or know someone who’d want to, there’s still time.
Also, we have two events next week:
Flock & ALPR Townhall, with Indivisible Ogden and the League of Women Voters of Weber County Tuesday, October 27, 6 to 8 pm Pleasant Valley Library, Black Box Theater
The Thing From Atlanta Thursday, October 29, 6 to 8 pm Salt Lake City Public Library, Main Library, Conference Room B Special guests: Rep. Jen Dailey-Provost (House District 22) Emily Grimmius (Privacy Policy Analyst, Libertas Institute). Costumes encouraged.
Thank you to everyone who signed and everyone who donated. UCC doesn’t run on partisan money, so all of this runs on support from people like you.
Conner,
Utah Civic Compact
